Ring, Ring

I understand that my belly is going to get bigger as the baby gets bigger. That's pretty obvious. However, what is the benefit of my hands swelling? Call me crazy, but I don't think swollen hands are going to help the process, especially since I can't get my wedding ring off. It seems like more of a hindrance to me. I really don't want to get it cut off (the ring, not my finger), but I don't know if I have much of a choice.
