Conversations with Georgia
I spent several hours today staining the stairs that lead from our back porch to the backyard. After dark you decided you wanted to inspect my work, so you grabbed a flashlight and you and daddy headed outside for a look.
Daddy: See what a good job your mommy did?
Georgia: (shining flashlight on stairs) Yeah.
D: See how she was really careful and didn't get paint on the house?
G: (obviously more interested in playing with flashlight than admiring my hard work)Yeah. (begins aiming flashlight at the sky)
D: The flashlight doesn't do a very good job of lighting up the stars, does it?
G: No, that's because the stars are too far away.
D: That's right.
G: Daddy, do you think that star over there is the one that shines over God's house?
D: I wonder.
