Christmas In KC

I can’t remember the last time I was so excited about Christmas. I even had a hard time sleeping the night before.

Oh how much fun it is to see Christmas through my little girl’s eyes! We sang Christmas songs, had pictures taken with Santa, put up the tree, learned about Jesus’ birth, played in the snow and spent lots of time together. Everything was so magical! Every time we asked what you wanted Santa to bring you, you consistently said “cam uh” (camera). Apparently you were a very good girl and listened to your mommy and daddy because Santa brought you just what you wanted. You also got a guitar, which was your second most requested gift, along with lots of clothes and books and toys (so many gifts that we had to bring an additional suitcase back with us).

Your brother is still a little young to really enjoy it all. He liked his gifts because almost all of them were cars. We’d open a gift for him and then wouldn’t see him for several minutes because he was pushing a car around the house.

Posing in your Christmas dress. You learned the hard way, shortly after this picture was taken, that you need to pick up your dress when you go potty.

Reading books with nonny before bedtime.

You two got to open one gift the night before Christmas. You each got Christmas padgees.

They were great for posing in front of the Christmas tree.

And for sitting on the sofa to eat snacks.

Every year we say we're not going to go overboard on the gifts, and every year this happens.

Palmer waiting patiently to open presents.

Still waiting.

Waiting, but not so patiently anymore.

Hey, look. Santa came and filled your stocking.

Perusing your loot.

Helping brother open his stocking.

As much fun as it was to open presents, the boys couldn't resist the awesomeness of the race track.

This was supposed to be a picture of Palmer and cousin Alex.

The aftermath.

Playing with sister's new guitar.
