Palmer These Days

Your vocabulary has skyrocketed the past few weeks. You now talk in long sentences and have strong opinions that are typically accompanied by tantrums when we can’t figure out what you want. Luckily we have a built-in interpreter in your sister. When she refuses to comply, we’re screwed.

You are a complete mama’s boy, constantly demanding “mommy do it” when you want a snack or a toy. Sometimes you only allow me to get you out of your crib in the mornings. I’m certain your adoration for me will continue throughout your life.

Here’s a short list of what you’re saying these days.
dor duh = Georgia
moogik = music
yideen keen = Lightning McQueen
gabbit = Cabot (a friend of yours who lives down the street from Nonny and Papa)
nadan ryan = Nathan and Ryan (friends who live across the street from Nonny and Papa)
doo doo dane = choo choo train
danta = Santa
bee bee dih der = baby sister (what you call your baby doll)
noh wurking = not working
dih muh yides = Christmas lights
yideen pih yoh = Lightning pillow (can’t sleep without it)
yideen bankit = Lightning blanket
owie wight dere = owie right there
die door dane = Dinosaur Train (one of your favorite shows)
han dana = Hannah Montana (one of sissy’s favorite shows)
daer dots = tater tots
daw bee mihlk = strawberry milk
dinko dinko yitto dar = Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
no, wan boy doo daks = No, I want boy fruit snacks
wan my dipits = I want my triplets
danta gohz dane = Santa Claus train (translation: I want to watch Polar Express)
wha ih dat noise = what is that noise? (you have incredible hearing and ask this `

A major point of frustration for me currently is your hitting. It’s constant. Sissy will be minding her own business and you’ll walk up to her and club her. Wha? I don’t get it, but your daddy says it’s normal boy behavior. I just want it to stop.
