Now that the piercing pain from my ruptured eardrum has subsided I'm beginning to realize some plusses from being partially deaf.

1. I hear out of my left ear about as well as I would if I were underwater, so go ahead and scream.
2. The dogs are barking again? Oh, I hadn't noticed.
3. Selective hearing paybacks are hell (not that your daddy has selective hearing)
4. If I sleep on my good ear I don't hear the monitors go off in the middle of the night when you roll over (I still haven't figured out how rolling over in your cribs is loud enough to set off the monitor).
5. Those annoyingly loud commercials...not so bad anymore.
