All Hope is Lost

Unless tomorrow's doctor's appointment yields miraculous news, I've lost all hope of Georgia arriving before or on her due date. This waiting thing is getting really tough. You know how frustrated you get when you have to wait an hour at Chuy's when you're starving and the salsa bar is closed? This is MUCH worse.

7 Days and Counting

You are due to arrive by this time next week. Whether you arrive or not is still a mystery, but it's weird to think that this time next week we may have another person to worry about. It's also strange now when people ask when you're due. I'm used to saying "Feb. 3rd" or "2 months." Now when I say "Friday" it sounds kind of weird and people react much differently to it, too. "Friday" is the kind of answer you give someone when they ask "when are you going on vacation" or "when is your doctor's appointment?" It's not usually what one expects to hear for a due date.

Teletubbie Belly

Wouldn't it be cool if, along with the swollen joints, exhaustion and morning sickness, pregnancy came with a see-through tummy? Kind of like the Teletubbies. That way we could see what our little girl is doing in there. I think it would really help with our eagerness to meet her.

Have You Had The Baby Yet?

This is the question Tyler asks at least half a dozen times a day. He calls me to ask. He e-mails me to ask. It's the first thing he asks in the morning and when he comes home from work at night. I think he's officially excited.

All My Bags Are Packed, I'm Ready To Go

We are doing all the little things expectant parents are expected to do. Our bags are packed, the camera and videocamera are charged and ready to go, my toes are nicely pedicured and all your clothes and anything else you may touch has been disinfected and washed in special baby detergent.

During our 37 week check up this week you opted to show off for the doctor by making some pretty impressive intra-uterine moves. Every week we go in the doctor asks if you've been moving around a lot. Needless to say, she didn't ask this week.

NOT YET!

I've been sick for the past week with a hacking cough and runny nose, resulting in an ugly case of laryngitis. Therefore, could you please wait another few days to come? I don't want my voice to sound like sandpaper on your delicate ears the first time you hear me talk to you.
With much thanks,
Mom

My Eyes Are Up Here

My belly has never received so much attention as it did during a recent trip to the mall. Every single person who saw me looked directly at the belly before looking at my face. I might have been a little put off by this behavior, except I had my hair in a ponytail and no make-up on. I wonder if I'll ever have the energy to do my hair and make-up again.

Milk and Water

These are the only two beverages I can stomach at this point. I do try the occasional Sprite and root beer, but they usually end up making me feel a little nauseated. Spciy foods are becoming another no-no. Feel free to let me know when you plan on arriving. Knowing when I'm going to get my body back would be quite comforting at this point.
